largeWelcome to my weekly Bad Mom Advice column where I attempt to answer all of your parenting questions as only I know how — with zero degree in early childhood development, but with the experience of raising four kids and not having any of them in prison – yet! Plus, I back all my advice on numerous scientific research, which may or may not include me making fun of your dumb kid behind your back and drinking a bunch of wine! Welcome to Bad Mom Advice!

i hated what you wrote about pit bulls i have two they are the best dogs how could you write something so irresponsible? pitbulls have enough bad media as it is. oh and I have two kids and a baby and my pit always licks my baby.

Yeah yeah I know, your pit bull is the best dog ever and would never, ever hurt anyone and I’m irresponsible because I said no dog, much less a pit, be left alone with a baby. I even said that people who have pits should not have them in homes with young children. We live in a free country. People can do anything they want. I think the majority of pit owners realize that their dogs require a lot of care, exercise, and training, and that is sort of hard to do with a dog when you are devoting the majority of your attention to a baby. I appreciate all of the passionate replies I have received from pit owners, but I still don’t agree with people having large numbers of dogs, leaving their dogs unattended, and breeding dogs. There are enough homeless dogs in the world. Hopefully your dog will never bite you, or attack a cat, or bite your baby. If it does, don’t come crying to me. Oh, and if you haven’t done so, get your damn dogs spayed or neutered.
