Mother Dies After Beating Cancer During Pregnancy and Delivering Twins

Jamie Snider had a more difficult struggle than anybody should ever have to go through. She beat cancer once, only to have it come back while she was pregnant with twins. Then she beat cancer again, while pregnant with twins! Tragically, she passed away not long after that, leaving behind four children and a lot of friends.

According to ABC News, 30-year-old Jamie Snider had lost an ovary during her first battle with cancer, so she was surprised when she was able to become pregnant again. She already had two daughters, Aubrey and Maddy, and not only got pregnant again, but this time was going to have twins.

Early in her pregnancy, however, Snider was diagnosed with an aggressive type of cervical cancer. Treatment couldn’t wait until after the pregnancy, and it was intense. She even had to go through chemo while pregnant with twins. Still, she was able to carry the babies to 33 weeks, when the premature but healthy twins were delivered by C-section. With her twins safely delivered, Snider went in for surgery.

“Tomorrow will be a great day,” she wrote on Facebook, according to ABC News. “God has been by my side the whole time. All your prayers and love have kept me going as well. Wish me luck. I’m having a C-section at 7 and then a radical hysterectomy right after. I’ll be fine. Thank you, God, for keeping me positive through all the hard times.”

A day after her surgery, Snider died of sudden heart failure.

“What gives me peace in my heart is she got to see those babies and hold them and be with them a little bit,” friend Larina Campanile told ABC.
