This Mom’s First Birthday Cookies Turned Into the Most NSFW Pinterest Fail
It’s natural that some people go totally wild planning elaborate first birthday parties for their babies. First birthdays are a big thing to celebrate! Sure, the baby doesn’t know what’s going on and will never remember any of it, but–for parents–keeping an infant alive for one calendar year is a milestone worth throwing a parade and eating cake for. So in the spirit of celebrating her kid’s first birthday party in a big, big way, one mother made 100 cookies shaped like the number “1” for her kid’s birthday. Unfortunately, she did not realize until they were baked and frosted that they actually looked exactly like little blue penises.
A Redditor going by PortugalPaul posted a photo of the cookie’s to Reddit’s /r/funny forum.
“My wife made ‘1’ cookies for our 1 year old’s birthday … I don’t think they came out right,” he wrote. He’s not kidding, either.
All those little blue cookies do look a lot like Smurf penises. Maybe these cookies would have been better for their gender reveal party. “Hooray! Our fetus has a penis. Here are some blue cookies.”
Reddit’s response was pretty mature, actually. The top 200 comments are pretty evenly divided between baking advice and sex jokes, and sometimes both at the same time.
“If you edge them, the frosting turns out thicker too,” one commenter said.
Piping the outsides with a different color of frosting certainly seem like it would help prevent any pervs at the party from seeing penises in what were clearly meant to be “1”-shaped cookies.
Another Redditor suggested that using a different recipe or freezing the dough after using the cookie cutters but before baking would help keep the cut edges crisp, which is a good note to make for future cookies, though not immediately all that useful to a woman who has 100 penis cookies.
This lady made and frosted 100 cookies! That’s a lot of work. And they did come out really nicely and don’t even look all that much like penises. All the kids will just see a bunch of ones. Some of the adults might think they look a little like penises, but that just makes the party a bit funnier than the average first birthday party.
And if you bake and frost 100 cookies and your husband comes in after they’re all done and says, “Those look like penises,” the only appropriate response is, “Well, get ready to eat a whole bag of dicks, because I’m not re-making these.”
