Matthew McConaughey Gives A Shout Out To Wives Who ‘Challenge’ Their Hubbies

In a sort of unintentional praise of wives who are more than decorative doormats, Matthew McConaughey got all braggy about how his wife Camila McConaughey tells him to “buck up” in the other half of their high profile partnership. The woman has three kids under the age of five. I doubt she’s a push over.

Matthew McConaughey reportedly told Details magazine that Camila is an active part in him discerning with roles to choose, as well as where the family will be going. She also encourages him to bring it when it comes to his performances. Go big or go home in the McConaughey house:

“I’ve got a wife who challenges me. There were two movies I wanted to do last year, but they were back-to-back with no separation. She was like, “You want to do it – buck up, grab your nuts, and make it happen. We’ll be there with you.”

“Papa goes to work, the circus goes with him…”

And what a circus there is. Each new career choice means that Camila, along with their kids Levi, aged four, Vida, aged three, and Livingston, now two months old, will be tagging along. I bet that calls for quite the ring leader.
