Levi Johnston Looking To Make Major Bank Off New Baby D-List Celebrity Style

I wasn’t alone when I thought it was mighty suspicious that we learned of Levi Johnston‘s new baby the day of Sarah Palin‘s Today show appearance. Suspicious, indeed but definitely no accident as Bristol Palin‘s ex reportedly planned his news just so to rain on his son’s grandmother’s day in front of the cameras.

But leaking details to tabloids apparently isn’t Levi’s only self promotional skill. The father-of-one is “no fool when it comes to the media,” as his PR team has already been touch with magazines and TV shows in the hopes of pimping out this baby — and little he or she isn’t even here yet.

Huffington Post reports that for Levi, this baby is reading like one big fat check:

“May sweeps are coming up and his story is interesting, but he should not expect to make nearly as much money as he did when he was with Bristol,” one TV executive tells me. “Maybe $10,000 to $15,000, but without the Palin part, this isn’t as exciting.”

Step one in exploiting your offspring for profit is to be strategic about who you breed with, as raising a child with a 20-year-old Alaskan schoolteacher isn’t nearly as salacious to the press as the VP candidate’s daughter. Then again, call up Bristol for a playdate with half-brother Trip Johnston and we may have a possible reality show  — complete with scripted interactions, manipulative editing, and cheap music.
