The Kardashian sisters seem like a very close, supportive family. It’s wonderful to think of kids growing up to still be that close. In fact, Kim and Kourtney Kardashian even took to experimental medical treatments, and Kim convinced Kourtney to give her some of her breast milk to try.

According to the Daily Meal, Kim Kardashian revealed on her app this week that she’d used her sister Kourtney’s breast milk to treat psoriasis.

Kim Kardashian has psoriasis.

Psoriasis is a common but incurable skin condition that causes scaly patches or rashes. There are treatments that can help lessen the effects, but there’s no cure. For a lot of people, it can be embarrassing or make them feel insecure. It can also be extremely itchy or uncomfortable. Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner both have psoriasis, and Kim has talked about how it bothers her.

“After having had it for over seven years, I feel like I’ve accepted it,” she said on her app this week. “But there are still times when I can feel insecure about it.”

Kim has access to the best doctors and skin care products money can buy, but there’s no cure for psoriasis. There are, however, legends of breast milk being able to cure it, or at least make it look better. So Kim Kardashian decided to try it.

“I’ve tried some basic treatment methods, but I’m always open to trying new things,” she explained. “One time, I even tried using Kourt’s breast milk, lol!”

Breast milk does not cure psoriasis.

Kim did not say she actually drank Kourtney’s breast milk. But she did apply it topically for a while to see if there would be any improvement. It didn’t help though, and Kardashian went back to cortisone shots and creams.

The National Psoriasis Foundation says breast milk cannot cure psoriasis. Their website credits Kim Kardashian with starting the rumor, but they probably don’t read as many breastfeeding blogs as we do. I’ve definitely seen claims that breast milk can cure psoriasis. (Also diaper rash, ear infections, cancer, and more.)
