Jim Carrey’s Daughter, Jane, Auditions For ‘American Idol’
Jennifer Lopez, one of the Idol judges, appeared alongside Jim Carrey on In Living Color back in the early 90s and seemed genuinely surprised to hear that it was Carrey’s daughter standing before her.
“Oh, I worked with Jim,’ gushed Lopez. “I remember you from when you were little! Do you remember me? I was one of the Fly Girls”¦You were so little, you were a baby, oh my god.”
Jane couldn’t exactly recall the details given that she was two years old at the time but, hey, you’ve got to give this girl credit for not being an ass-kisser.
Needless to say, Jane made it through to the next stage after singing Bonnie Raitt‘s “Something To Talk About.” And, lo and behold, she called her dad to share the news.
“She’s so wonderful! She’s amazing. I can’t wait for the world to understand what she has. Way to go. Oh my god, this is going to be an exciting year,” Jim boasted.
They cynic in me believes Jane agreed to appear on the show to help improve its dwindling ratings, though it is possible she truly is an American Idol hopeful looking to pursue her dreams. It’s hard to tell. Either way, it’s always refreshing to see someone a celeb’s child, no less putting herself out there and attempting to form her own identity.
