Just Kidding! Jay-Z To Resume Calling Everyone’s Daughters ‘Bitches’

A couple of days ago, it was reported that Jay-Z had penned a new poem for his baby daughter Blue Ivy saying that he would never use the word “bitch” again. It would seem that parenthood illuminated sexism and the widespread degradation of women to the 40-something rapper, and so now that he had a little girl in the world, he wanted to let everyone know that he would be discontinuing the word. Nevermind that every other lady has always been someone’s daughter too prior to Jay-Z’s epiphany about women’s value. However, it turns out that Jay-Z has no intention of retiring his “bitch” usage at all. [tagbox tag=”jay-z”]

Cue the lyrics to “Big Pimpin’!

Jay-Z published the following poem on his website, which read:

Before I got in the game, made a change, and got rich/I didn’t think hard about using the word bitch/I rapped, I flipped it, I sold it, I lived it/Now with my daughter in this world I curse those that give itNo man will degrade her, or call her name. I’m so focused on your future, the degradation has passed. I wish you wealth, health and insight. Forever young you may pass. Blue Ivy Carter, my angel.

But when asked about the poem by NY Daily News,  Jay-Z apparently “scoffed”telling reporters:

“That poem and story are fake.”

Well, treating women with respect and sexual agency was at least a sweet sentiment coming from one of the most successful and respected rappers in the industry. Let the bitch-calling and degradation of everyone’s daughters ensue then. Nothing to see here, folks.
