Any Thoughts You Had That Honey Boo-Boo’s Mom Was A Decent Human Can Be Abandoned Now

Honey Boo Boo‘s mom, June Shannon, is allegedly dating a convicted child molester who spent ten years in prison for forcing oral sex on an eight-year-old. The victim was a relative of Shannon’s. Any oversight I’ve had for her obvious lack of good parental judgment is over. If this allegation is true – this woman is a monster.

TMZ reports that in 2004 Mark McDaniel was convicted for aggravated child molestation. Shannon was dating McDaniel at the time – and his victim is actually one of her relatives. Seriously Mama June? You still have young children. You’re dating a child molester. This is not okay. How can anyone date a child molester? I’m speechless and I hate everything.

My first exposure to Honey Boo Boo was probably the same as most other people – on Toddlers and Tiaras. There was a bit with her drinking Mountain Dew and twirling around like a kid totally hopped up on Mountain Dew. I remember thinking, Hmm. That’s not great parenting. Then there was June’s obvious parading of her child around on television for ratings and money, but there was also the stories of her managing all the money with college funds and really taking care of her family. I always assumed a lot of the backlash the family received was based in a lot of classist judgment. I admittedly turned off a lot of my judgment toward her and her family because of that. But this? Nope. Unforgivable.

TMZ reached out to TLC for comment and received this response: “TLC is not currently in production on HERE COMES HONEY BOO BOO.  We are very concerned about this new information and are reassessing the future of the series.” I’m pretty sure there is no future of the series if she’s dating a child molester. There is no way that even the reality TV loving American public would stomach that. No way.
