Like You, Halle Berry Thought She Was Just A Tad Too Old To Get Knocked Up

In case you were under a rock the entire weekend, you know that 46-year-old Halle Berry is pregnant with her second child. But before everyone starts to roll their eyes over older IVF celebrity moms setting unrealistic fertility precedents  Halle claims that she wasn’t even vying for baby #2. Sometimes when you have a sexy French fiance, I guess these things just happen.

In an interview with CNN, the soon-to-be mommy of two describes her second pregnancy at this late stage of the game as “the biggest surprise of my life.” Halle claims that she’s feeling “fantastic” so far in a pregnancy she never expected to happen:

“I thought I was kind of past the point where this could be a reality for me. So it’s been a big surprise and the most wonderful,” the actress said.

Halle did not confirm reports that she is having a boy. But she did get chatty about her baby bump in the name of charity (taking a page from Kate Middleton). The Oscar-winning actress offered up a few sound bites about her surprise pregnancy in the name of the United Nations World Food Programme to fight world hunger along side Michael Kors:

“Especially now, being a pregnant woman and already having a child … it’s so important what happens to the baby while they’re in utero. And the first 1,000 days is fundamental,” said Berry, who’s showing only a small baby bump.
