Father Arrested for Following School Bus Dressed as a Clown, Because Stupid Pranks Aren’t Just for Kids Anymore

Just when you thought that creepy clown trends were just for kids, a full-grown adult was arrested by police for wearing a creepy clown mask and trailing a bus full of middle-school kids.

According to CBS, last Tuesday some school children in Auburn, Colorado, noticed a guy in a creepy clown mask following behind their school bus. Because creepy clowns are apparently the cool, horrible trend of 2016, a lot of the kids were absolutely terrified by it. Middle school kids can be pretty small, and a bunch of them were really scared.

The kids told adults later that the clown had followed the bus, stopped when it stopped, and even followed some of the kids when they got off the bus and started walking home.

”This caused extreme fear to the children and also caused them to have to hide under a nearby backyard deck to avoid the man,” police said.

Of course, the clown turned out to actually be the father of one of the kids on the bus, who thought it would be a fun prank to play on the kids.

It is, of course, a terrible idea to try to scare other people’s children as a joke.  According to Fox News, some of the other parents are really pissed about this. One mother said that her 9-year-old was petrified to go to school the next day, and she spent hours trying to convince him clowns weren’t coming to murder him.

I can see why she was mad. If you had to spend the whole day trying to calm a panicking child, you’d be pissed at the other parent, too.

The father was reportedly arrested and charged with disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct.

Man, school events are going to be really awkward for that dad from now on.

“So, wait, you were the guy arrested for dressing like a clown and tailing the school bus?” the other parents will say.
