Elton John & David Furbish Welcome A Second Son, Say Their Family Is Now ‘Complete’

Ever since they had their first son, Zachary, two years ago, Elton John and David Furnish have been pretty open about wanting another baby. In countless statements, Elton mentioned how he would like his son to have a sibling, how they’d like to grow their family. Well now, it looks like Elton and David have gotten their wish. They just announced the birth of Elijah Joseph Daniel Furnish-John.

In a statement to the press, the couple gushed:

“Both of us have longed to have children, but the reality that we now have two sons is almost unbelievable. The birth of our second son completes our family in a most precious and perfect way. ”

”It is difficult to fully express how we are feeling at this time; we are just overwhelmed with happiness and excitement.”

The couple’s joy is so obvious, it just has to put a big smile on your face.

It is interesting that John and Furnish mentioned their family being “complete” now. It has to suggest that they aren’t planning on pursuing any more children. Given that Elton will be 66 in March, it’s easy to understand that the two might not want to continue having more little ones.

The fact that the two were having a second child seemed to be an ill-kept secret. Perez Hilton prematurely announced the birth of the little guy a week ago, only to be corrected by the couple’s reps.

We can assume that this new little one will mean a few more years where Elton refuses to tour or give any performances. The famed musician decided after the birth of their first son that he wouldn’t work while his children were little. “I don’t want to miss part of his childhood,” John said of little Zachary over the summer. Now, we can only imagine he’ll be extending the time he takes away from his successful career.

And from the sounds of it, he’ll love every minute of it!
