Darren Aronofsky’s Anti-Drug PSAs Will Totally Freak You Out

Remember the “This Is Your Brain on Drugs” campaign with the eggs and frying pan? It was popular in the 80s and 90s, while I was growing up, along with the whole “Just Say No” campaign. I remember the former being kind of cool/shocking but, hey, that was in 1987! Today’s anti-drug PSAs are Oscar-worthy productions, as evidenced in the latest spots by Requiem for a Dream director Darren Aronofsky (also known as Rachel Weisz‘s ex).

Aronofsky’s four spots for The Meth Project are totally creepy and they’re sure to give children who are even thinking about drugs nightmares for years to come. Okay, so that’s a slight exaggeration, but they really are powerful (if not for children then at least for the parents watching them; I’m thinking of never having my kids leave the house again and they’re only 6 and 2!).

The graphic, 30-second shorts, which you can view here, cover off everything from prostitution to suicide and will be shown on national television. Take a look below for a preview.
