Cindy Crawford’s Daughter, 10, New Face Of Versace Kids Line

What’s with celebrities and their drop-dead gorgeous offspring-slash-siblings? And what’s with all of them becoming itty-bitty models long before they’re old enough to drive?

In the past few months alone, we’ve written about Kate Moss‘ 13-year-old sister, Lottie Moss, making her modeling debut; Lauryn Hill‘s daughter Selah Marley, 12, appearing in Teen Vogue; and, most recently, Noel Gallagher‘s 11-year-old daughter Anais Gallagher being signed to Select Model Management.

The latest soon-to-be-famous face is 10-year-old Kaia Gerber. The daughter of legendary supermodel Cindy Crawford, Kaia is the face of Young Versace a new kids line from the famed Italian fashion label. Ironically (or not), Crawford was actually the one-time muse of the late Gianna Versace.

”Like her mother, Kaia has a very special gift,” Donatella Versace said in a release. ”The camera really, really loves her. Having Cindy on-set for the shoot took me back to all the amazing [Richard] Avedon shoots we worked on together. It was such a special treat watching Kaia walk in her mother’s footsteps!”

Kaia is a spitting image of her mother it’s uncanny! Crawford is highly supportive of her daughter’s latest gig, boasting in a release:

 ”I’m so thrilled that Kaia was chosen to be part of the first Young Versace Campaign. I have so many fond memories of the times I spent with Gianni and Donatella. There is something so very special about the House of Versace. Being on-set with my daughter watching her in front of the camera was a fantastic experience. I am so proud of her.”

Once again, many people are wondering what ever happened to kids being kids. At the same time, the line is geared towards children aged 0-12, and so it’s not exactly like it would make sense to have 20-somethings or even teens appearing in the ad campaign. Plus, the clothes are refreshingly age-appropriate. And Crawford’s always been viewed a smart, down-to-earth businesswoman; something tells me these qualities apply to her parenting, as well.

If anyone’s equipped to guide her daughter through the cut-throat world of modeling, it’s Cindy Crawford.
