Biker Against Child Abuse Supports Abuse Victims In The Coolest Way Possible

Meet the world’s greatest biker “gang.” Bikers Against Child Abuse is a group of leather-clad motorcycle lovers on a mission to empower and protect child victims of abuse. The video below is heartwarming, so have a few tissues handy.

According to the video, the group will give each child they support a road name and a vest with their own patch. They assign the child two bikers who pledge to be there for them through thick and thin. This can include standing watch at their house if they’ve been assaulted and are scared, and even going with the child to court if the kid needs to testify.

The cases that these men and women take on are gut wrenching, including a 10-year-old rape victim and an 8-year-old who was beaten by their mom. There are victims of molestation and mental abuse as well, and each story is heartbreaking. These aren’t just a bunch of biker dudes playing shrink either. They are all trained by professional mental health care workers, registered with the state welfare association, given background checks and fingerprinted.

As a survivor of sexual abuse myself, I think the symbolism here is wonderful. These bikers are there to make sure these kids don’t feel alone and powerless. According to Organization member Pipes:

 ”It’s scary enough for an adult to go to court. We’re not going to let one of our little wounded kids go alone.” In court that day, the judge asked the boy, ”Are you afraid?” No, the boy said. The judge then asked “Why not?” and the boy said “Because my friends are scarier than he is.”
