8 Ways To Entertain The Kids While You Watch The Olympics

My daughter just doesn’t seem to care that much about the rivalry between Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps. She has no interest in the medal count, the dominating Chinese divers, or the redemption of Lolo Jones. To her, this is just another weekend that should be filled with superhero costumes, hours in the park and a couple of walks down to the pond to feed the neighborhood fish.

I, on the other hand, would love to spend the weekend cheering on Team USA and marveling at all of the awesome athletes competing in the Summer Games. Aside from football season, I’m not really a sports fan. But the Olympics are different, especially the Summer Olympics. It’s the time when I actually watch the road race bikers, the the rhythmic gymnasts and each swimming race.

So how can I manage to watch the glory of the Summer games when my daughter wants me to be busily entertaining her? Don’t worry guys, I’ve been giving this a lot of thought. Here are the ideas I’ve come up with. And I hope that you’ll give me some extra advice in the comments. Really, I don’t want to miss a single minute of the new Fab Five.
