10 Pregnant Women Posing With Guns

gun3Pregnant women with guns are like peanut butter and jelly. It just makes sense. If you didn’t pose with a handgun at your pregnancy photo shoot, then you’re obviously not doing it right. Or, maybe you just don’t live in Texas. (I can say that because I live in Texas. Remember the Alamo!)

Regular pregnancy photo shoots are boring. Here are 10 of the best pregnant women with gun poses if you like to live on the edge:

1. Happy Pregnant Hostage

I don’t know what to say about this photo, except that it is my all-time favorite. I just can’t stop looking at it. I’m going to set it as my screensaver right now.

2. Pregnant Target Practice

Her belly isn’t getting in the way of her bull’s-eye, no sirree.

3. Like Mother, Like Son…?

I don’t know what to say about this picture. So awkward and disturbing at the same time.

4. Stand Your Pregnant Ground

eGhub2JuMTI=_o_910---pregnant-woman-uses-gun-to-stop-accused-buglar

This doesn’t fall under pregnant photo shoot per se, but this real-life pregnant lady used her ammo to stop an intruder. And she looks pretty proud of herself.

5. Adorable Maternity Holster

This is kind of like the belly band, except you can put a gun in it. Bonus.

6. The Perfect Gun-Toting Parents-To-Be

Screen shot 2011-04-20 at 10.05.28 AM

HAHAHAH what does this photo even MEAN? I love the sly little look on her face as she steals his handgun.

7. Pregnant Kill Shot

Here’s that same sly little pregnant lady again practicing another gun pose. Looks like this was the main theme of her photo shoot.

8. Babies, Guns, And Watermelons

So much WTF on this one, I don’t even know where to begin. I sincerely hope she shot the watermelon directly after the photo was taken.

9. Pregnant Vigilante In Plaid

This photo is so dated and so terrible in so many ways.

10. Worst Pregnancy Announcement Ever

I don’t…I don’t get this. I own firearms, and I don’t get this. Is this supposed to be a play on the whole “mama bear” / “dad protecting the family” tropes? I just…no.

      • Bethany Ramos

        I DON’T GET IT EITHER!

      • Kay_Sue

And the one with the watermelon.

Am I going to get shot if I mess with your watermelon? I might have considered it that one time my husband ate the last of my Reese’s but…I wouldn’t actually do it, or take a photo indicating that I might…although he never touched my Reese’s again, that’s for damn sure.

      • Kheldarson

There is so much stereotype in the watermelon pic, it’s kinda hilarious.

      • Kay_Sue

I thought it was the funniest one too.

      • http://Mommyish.com/ Eve Vawter

SHE IS PROTECTING THE MELON (S)

      • Kay_Sue

And I lost it, because innuendo and I’m secretly a 12 year old trapped in an adult body.

    • Kheldarson

I kinda love number 2 because that just looks like a gal who’s not letting pregnancy slow her down or keep her from her hobbies.

The rest are just….*rolls around laughing*

    • ted3553

I do not understand at all. I am Canadian and I really think there’s a culture difference between Americans (in general of course) and Canadians. I don’t understand the gun fascination and I know tons of people who own them for hunting. No one I know ever has a gun in a picture unless it is over a dead moose.

      • Lilly

I know, it is so weird. I think the other thing that is weird is that I only know one Canuck with a handgun (military and then police officer), most own rifles — since they are only used for hunting.

      • Kay_Sue

I promise, we aren’t all nuts. Neither my husband nor I posess any pictures of us with firearms, unless you include the photos that were taken when he was in Afghanistan, where he was pictured with his weapon.

      • ted3553

but do you have pictures of either of you taken at Walmart or Sears photo studio holding watermelons?

      • Kay_Sue

Well, there was this one time….but he just REALLY LOVES WATERMELON, so I gave him a pass.

      • Lilly

well now I am just picturing walking up to the Walmart photo studio carrying a gun and a watermelon (both purchased there of course) asking them to do a montage — I’d be curious the reaction you would get depending on the location

      • Kay_Sue

Around here, they’d be like, Hell yea, America.

      • aliceblue

“Honey, all the girls ask for that. How ’bout you hold some deviled eggs or maybe a nice mess of okra?. (You DID say Walmart).

      • brebay

Rest assured, Ted, many of us (Americans) don’t get the whole gun thing either.

      • Lilly

Probably true, but it is the fascination with them that weirds me out — always makes me think of Full Metal Jacket — the this is my rifle there are many like it but this one is mine kind of obsession

      • Me-Me

In the military, your weapon is your life. Its not quite the same for civilians.

      • Rachel Sea

I’ve been around guns my whole life and there is not a single picture of me with a gun.

      • Kay_Sue

Same here. It doesn’t compute for me in the slightest.

      • whiteroses

I agree. These people clearly have no concept of proper gun safety. Rule Number One: Never point a gun at something you don’t want to destroy.

      • Kheldarson

A large portion of it is that we have two major subcultures that celebrate guns: redneck and gangster. Most of these shots tie into one or the other; I’d argue 2 and 4 are the exceptions.

      • Joye77

I agree! And many of these rednecks seem to think they need to stock up on firearms for some reason. Scary that the craziest people have all the guns. But that’s ‘Murica for ya.

      • Zettai

Yes. The difference is gangsters stock up on guns to protect themselves from other gangs and rednecks stock up on guns to protect themselves from the rest of ‘Murica. WTF.

      • Me-Me

Ugh here we go! Its the rednecks! Its all the uneducated crazy ass hillbilly rednecks! Hide your babies! Please. Really? I am a legal gun carrying, in law school educated redneck. Is anyone who advocates for guns a redneck? I am ex military, I have passed ALL background checks, I am not crazy or unstable. Your argument is not valid. The reason I and most people who Legally carry is for protection against those out there who use weapons, force and other nasty things for intimidation. I live in a small town. I don’t carry around here. But if we are going to Milwaukee or some other nasty city, you can bet I am locked and loaded. I refuse to be a victim. I have been in the past. Never again. Our society these days is dangerous. I would rather be able to defend myself, my family or even a stranger should the need arise, rather than see someone die or be hurt because some asshole gangbanger has a gun, therefore the power. So you people who say rednecks and gangsters are crazy gun people. Who would you rather carry. Me and others like me, who are military trained, legally allowed to carry, trained in the laws and obviously not crazy or the criminal who already has blood on his hands who doesn’t care about the law or you?

      • Kendra

Seriously though, we own a lot of guns, and my husband has been hunting for years, but I don’t think there is a picture of anyone with a gun. If there is, it is incidental in the photo and not like “here’s me holding my cool gun”.

      • ted3553

i love that you put it that way because that’s exactly what I was thinking when I saw these. Look at my cool gun, how about if I point it at the camera, so cool.

      • MellyG

yea, it makes me feel like they don’t truly know what they’re doing

      • MellyG

I could be wrong, but i feel like the people that insist upon posing with them, are well….posers. I don’t personally like guns when i’m not at a shooting range, but i grew up with them, my dad has a ton, but he has no photos of himself with a gun, me with a gun, my mom with a gun……it would just seem bizarre to me

      • http://www.twitter.com/ohladyjayne allisonjayne

Same. Also Canadian. Don’t get it. At all.

      • Joye77

        I’m American and I don’t get it.

      • CMP414

My husband and I are American and we are both strongly anti-gun. We really don’t get the fascination either.

    • http://mother--bored.tumblr.com/ Aimee Ogden

Isn’t the first rule of gun safety never to point even an unloaded gun at someone? I hope a lot of these pictures were taken with a timer because otherwise it just looks like a bunch of people out there REALLY don’t like their photographers.

      • Kay_Sue

“Never point a firearm at anything you do not intend to destroy entirely.”

Being a photographer in these situations seems like it should come with hazardous duty pay or something…

      • MellyG

That was my thought, and also the first thing i was taught about guns!

      • arrow2010

What makes you think they weren’t using a tripod with timer?

      • Kay_Sue

        Dude, reading comprehension.

“I hope a lot of these pictures were taken with a timer…”

    • Paul White

GAAAA Muzzle discipline. I hate shots that have the muzzle pointing at the photographer

      • keelhaulrose

My family aren’t big on guns, but even I know one of the first gun safety rules goes something like: Don’t aim at anything you aren’t willing to shoot.
Though, perhaps, they’re trying to think of a way to get out of the sky-high cost of professional photography?

      • MellyG

Yep, i took that as a “well, they clearly only use guns for show” and “i hope they triple checked that they’re not loaded”

      • Me-Me

Even so- Don’t EVER point your weapon at someone unless you are intending to fire at them!

    • helloshannon

i am not sure i can think of something more tacky than this. i am truly trying and cannot think of a single thing.

    • Alicia Kiner

I actually kinda like #4 simply because she’s protecting herself. I mean, Some of these are pretty creepy and out there. But I firmly believe we should be safe in our own homes, and should be able to protect ourselves. JMO.

    • Kendra

I now know that I’m doing everything wrong. I will promptly add these to my Pinterest page for maternity photos the next time around. Obviously, I’m missing out on a huge trend!!!

      • Bethany Ramos

Haha please post your final pics!

    • TwentiSomething Mom

“Say something about my wife’s stretch marks and I will shoot you”

      • Williwaw

I know those are just stretch marks but it kind of looks like some weird creeping plant infestation spreading out away from her hand. I think I may have seen “Alien” too many times.

    • Hibbie

#8 is clearly Gallagher’s wife. 50/50 split on whether the gun is for the melon or the man.

      • Bethany Ramos

        Hahahahah

    • Crusty Socks

If you’re offended, just photoshop Groupon Dildos instead.

      • Bethany Ramos

        Best username ever.

    • MellyG

#2 only bothers me because of the flip flops. It doesn’t seem like it’s a photo shoot, just her doing her thing, which i appreciate, but one of the first things i was taught about target practice is wear close toed shoes! Those shells can come back hot!

      • Rachel Sea

Amen. I learned to keep my cleavage covered after the first time I shot a 9mm. I had shell shaped burn scars on my right boob for years.

      • MellyG

oh yea that was another thing! i have cleavage that’s, uhm, hard to cover…..but i learned to wear something that doesn’t plunge!

      • brebay

plus I tend to trip pretty regularly when I wear flip-flops.

    • jane

Am I the only one who sees a deranged Tim Robbins in #1? Like “I know this isn’t Susan Sarandon and if you mention it again you’re going down!”

      • Bethany Ramos

        Hahahaha

    • SusannahJoy

Am I the only one imagining the woman in 8 being barefoot? Not that I’m judging, I’m barefoot now! it just seems really unlikely that she’s wearing shoes.

    • Joye77

I don’t get it. Also , I would assume that a person is taking the picture so they are essentially aiming the gun at that person which is a big no-no to anyone that knows anything about gun safety. It’s just reckless and stupid.

    • Rachel Sea

I am REALLY unsettled by the finger-on-trigger, aiming at the camera, shots. I hope those were done on a timer with the photographer out of the way. The first rule of firearms is never pointing them at someone you don’t plan to shoot.

      • brebay

Yeah, these sort of shoot the whole “responsible gun owner” thing all to hell. so to speak.

      • Me-Me

Exactly! This gives us a bad name. We know better! Never have your finger on the trigger unless you are firing, NEVER point any weapon at anyone, know your background. I know it was all in fun, but this is serious. Deadly serious. If some people cant do it the right way no matter if its just for fun, put it down.

    • Valerie

I feel like we all need to print out the first photo and keep an eye out. That dude us hanging by a thread, it’s in his eyes.

    • Tea

I suddenly feel a need to get one of our reenacting buddies to pose with her musket.

    • JJ

God-damn ya’ll get me hot over with these pictures of these true hot blood American women displaying their first amendment rights. Mmmm nothing more true American then showing off the world you will shoot to kill for you baby, that’s right ladies you start preparing that fetus now to learn how to shoot in the future too. Hopefully by the time little jr is 10 months old he or she will get their first baby gun such a special moment in a child’s life. Nothing says bad ass bitch like a pregnant lady about to pop standing up for her right to defend herself, hells yeah ‘Merica! I plan on doing a similar photo shoot when I am pregnant someday too but I am going to go for the ultimate guns I can find. Maybe a rocket launcher or a large AK- 47 you know something real tough to get my message across that I am a mama bear don’t mess with my cubs.

      • brebay

Am I the only one thinking Mama Bear won’t make it 18 years without losing her kids to the state for abuse at least once? It’s always the ones ready to cut (or shoot) a bitch over a sandbox scuffle who turn out to be just as violent at home.

    • Williwaw

I wonder if those pregnant women posing with guns actually went out shooting…cause it seems like that might be kind of disturbing for the fetus/baby? I don’t suppose anyone’s ever studied it, but I think I’d be more likely to avoid spending a pregnant day at the range than swear off sushi or lunch meat while pregnant. Come to think of it, I did actually postpone a firearms training session because I was pregnant (I sometimes work in the backcountry, so might actually have to carry a gun). Also, I don’t think the lying-down shooting stance would have been very comfortable while preggo. But otherwise, these shots are mostly kind of funny, even though I’m not a gun person.

    • brebay

These pictures are the prime illustration of “owning guns” versus “celebrating guns.” It’s the latter that makes everyone look nutty.

    • brebay

I hope Geico uses a couple of these in their next talking photo ad.

    • brebay

What is it about a man with no jawline and wire-rimmed glasses that draws him to handguns so much?

    • aliceblue

      WHY??

    • Me-Me

Besides these ridiculous pictures, as a woman, I see other women who carry as saying they refuse to be a victim. I see strong women, who are able and willing to defend themselves. Being pregnant is irrelevant. Women are victimized every day. This says to me, that we aren’t going to accept that anymore.
