Creepy Arkansas Judge Leaked Charlize Theron Adoption Details And Trolled Online Message Boards

1373563246-maggioI’m so naive. I have always assumed that hardcore Internet trolls were basement-dwelling, Cheeto-fingere’d, Gamer-fueld amped up dickweeds who were cranky their parents grounded them for downloading porno on the internets, when in fact an online troll can be just about anyone, including 52-year-old judges from Arkansas. This report is totally bonkers.

Circuit Judge Mike Maggio has been revealed as an online troll who posted sexist, racist and homophobic comments on Internet message boards. He also leaked details of Charlize Theron‘s adoption of her baby son from South Africa, two months before she publicized the information. Maggio has admitted the postings. From the Daily Mail:

I take full responsibility for the comments that have been attributed to me,’ Maggio, a father-of-five, said in a statement. ‘I apologize deeply for my lapse in personal judgment and for that, I have no excuse. The comments posted were not acceptable. These comments are not a reflection of who I am.’

Regarding the Theron adoption, he posted this:

2014-03-02-22-02-13

So not only did he leak confidential adoption information, which is completely unethical, but he also posted a mess of doozies like this:

2014-03-02-22-07-25 and because he must be a fan of baby name judging, we have this:

2014-03-02-15-48-53
The above screen grabs were taken from the website The Blue Hog report, who basically broke this story. The owner of the website, Matt Campbell has many more screen grabs showing a lot of terrible comments this jude has made about homosexuals, transgender people, and women. Maggio’s term as a 20th Judicial District judge expires this year. In the statement he asked for privacy for his family, which includes three sons and two daughters from a previous relationship.

The state’s Judicial Discipline and Disability Commission is investigating Maggio’s postings.

His circuit court seat paid around 140 thousand dollars a year. Unbelievable.

I would HOPE that the constituents from his district realize that those “common names” he is referring to are their names (or their kids names) and will vote his sorry ass out. We all make mistakes. We all say things that are inappropriate to family and friends from time to time. If you take the time to log in to a website and create a post and write it out, that is not a “lapse in judgment” that is showing the world what kind of asshat, dudebro you really are.

Right. I love when people claim things aren’t a reflection of who they are. What exactly does it reflect then when you go out of your way to say terrible things? They’re like NoNoNo, I was just joking, messing around, blowing off steam, etc. Well then clearly you’re a person with no problem regularly joking via sexism, racism, and homophobia and that’s actually pretty terrible.

“I take full responsibility…but this wasn’t really ‘me’. This was some other ‘me’.”

      Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiggggggghhhhhhhhhttttt.

Well, the name thing I kind of thought was OK, but the rest of it was super creepy and not something I’d expect of your average citizen, let alone an educated one in a position that usually has some respect. He’s one nasty thing.

This was not a lapse. You don’t become a racist homophobe because you’re having a bad day. He didn’t say asshole, he said ni##$r and f##$%t. Big difference.

Wonder how he got caught… for um… educational purposes.

      • TwentiSomething Mom

Right! I’ve never posted anything racist or homophobic but I don’t want the world to see the stuff I write on here.

        Time for VPN!

Did you follow the link? The site administrator for the Hog Hub or whatever just pieced together who he was from his personal comments. Guy took information about where he went to school, how long, his fascination and apparent knowledge of a certain high school girl (Maggio’s daughter) and pieced it together, comparing it to the judge’s life history. It’s honestly really impressive sleuthing.

Warning: If you do follow the link, have a plastic bag or wastebasket handy because a lot of it really, really made me want to vomit. These are not even close to the worst screenshots from that “GeauxJudge”

        Just did.

Dude’s not funny or clever at all. He’s just an attentionwhore and says shit just to fit into the situation.

(Yes, I know trolling very well)

      • Kay_Sue

Yup. I think the lack of subtlety and tack was what was so nauseating about it. I can honestly appreciate a good troll. It keeps things interesting around the interwebz…but that was just…clumsy.

Well I don’t think referring to himself as ‘geauxjudge’ and talking about his courtroom helped maintain his anonymity. For someone who sees criminals all day, you’d think he’d be a little better at covering his own tracks.

    • TwentiSomething Mom

Even though he’s a 52 year old judge, I can still picture him sitting in a basement with Cheeto stains on his fingers while he trolls the net.

    • TngldBlue

The anonymity of the internets doesn’t usually mean you post things the deepest darkest thoughts someone else has. He should be kicked off the bench just for the sheer stupidity of using judge in his screen name.

    • Rachel Sea

And all the appellate lawyers in Arkansas start shopping for boats.

“Your honor I’d like to enter into evidence, 500 pages of comments proving the presiding judge was a sexist bigot.”

    • brebay

Is it wrong that I’m more shocked by his terrible grammar and sentence structure?
