Jay Z Won A Gold Sippy Cup At Last Night’s Grammy Awards

56th GRAMMY Awards - Backstage And AudienceLast night at the Grammy Awards Jay Z and his little woman performed Drunk In Love and pretty much killed it. I mean, come on. Not only did Beyonce look ridic gorgeous with her damp hair and her little Flashdance chair routine but when her husband joined her onstage he patted her booty (licious) and pretty much showed the entire world how sexy marriage can be indeed. But this little display of affection wasn’t nearly enough because every time the cameras cut to them in the audience the world was privy to them holding hands, Jay Z kissing his wife’s forehead, and the megaceleb couple just being full on adorable the entire time.

Because this wasn’t enough to make the rest of us shlubs totally enraptured with the Carter clan, when Jay Z was called onstage to accept the Grammy award for best rap collaboration he not only thanked God for a “beautiful light of a young lady in his life” motioning to Bey, he also told his daughter that Daddy got a gold sippy cup just for her.

So not only did we have Jay Z and Beyonce looking gorgeous all night, performing a super hot opening number and displaying all manner of public affection, we also had Jay give a shout out to his daughter and sippy cups.

They are the best people alive, hands down.

I still think that the Jay Z singing “eat the cake, Anna Mae” part in the lyrics is pretty tasteless. And didn’t he (allegedly, of course) cheat on Beyonce before? Doesn’t seem like that great a guy to me.

  • Kay_Sue

That was *hot*. I kinda wanna know Jay-Z’s secret to walking with seeming ease while his wife was steaming up the stage like that. ;)

    • Kay_Sue

Okay, there are folks on Buzzfeed calling this “softcore porn”. WTF? I am seriously offended. Are us married folks not allowed to steam it the eff up? Those are two sexy people, having a sexy fun time celebrating each other and their relationship in an artistic fashion. WTF is wrong with people. /end random rant and long live Bey

    • http://Mommyish.com/ Eve Vawter

      That is beyond dumb

    • Kay_Sue

I know. One woman actually said, “Not good role-modeling that I want my 11 year old granddaughter to see on prime time TV.”

Really? Two people that are in a committed relationship and seem to truly find each other attractive? That’s what you’re worried about her seeing? A woman expressing her sexuality in a very powerful way? It’s not Miley and Beetlejuice. *shakes head*

    • Kheldarson

But, see, Miley Cyrus was just expressing her outrage and rebellion at the image she was forced into as a child! That is the core of the music industry!

Who wants to see commitment and monogamous sexy times? That’s just not enough drama, pfff.

    • Kay_Sue

Not to mention, who wants to see married people looking like they are in love and WAAAAAAY horny for each other? Psssh, it was like, what, 8:30? They should have been in bed. :-P

    • http://Mommyish.com/ Eve Vawter

It was on after the watershed ffs Not EVERYTHING has to be for the children anyway, plus, it was barely scandalous

    • Kay_Sue

      But Evvvvvvveeeeee….think of the chilllllddddreeeeeen!

    • http://Mommyish.com/ Eve Vawter

I’m gonna think of the children and say it’s not the worst thing for them to see two PARENTS acting slightly sexy towards each other during a music performance.

    • Kay_Sue

      Amen.

    • CMJ

Someone on the gloss called the grammy’s the SLUT CLUB. Amazing.

    • http://Mommyish.com/ Eve Vawter

I want to be a member of that club

They probably had a heart attack when Fuse showed all of Beyonce’s new videos. Especially the one for “Partition.” (The lyrics include, “Driver roll up the partition, please. I don’t need you see Yonce on her knees. Mascaras running. Red lipsticks smudged. Oh he’s so horny. He wants to f–k. He popped all my buttons and he ripped my blouse…” Now if she had performed that, I’d understand the pearl clutching.

Some people are way too up tight. It really wasn’t scandalous. It wasn’t like she was straddling his lap in water and giving a “surfboard” demonstration. Some people need to come off it.

    • Kay_Sue

It’s our American sensibilities, I think. So easily offended over the silliest things.

    • Anonymous Kid

Absolutely. When you visit other countries, it’s not unusual to see topless women on TV. I saw a shampoo commercial with topless women when I was overseas. I was in Croatia, and this pub or bar offered free drinks to any woman who walked in topless. People here would spazz and demand that fines and punishment be given.

  • Anonymous Kid

I loved the performance, and they have this crazy chemistry. I couldn’t help but smile and dance. Like go Mrs. Carter. (How out of control is her body?!) It was sexy but not OTT. It’s inspiring to see a famous couple who have been together since 2002/2003 (married since ’08) still hot and crazy or drunk in love. In the industry that’s a lifetime. You should do stuff like that with your husband. Nothing wrong with being hot for your man especially when you’re parents and contending with crazy schedules! I def wasn’t offended. I’d take this any day over Miley gyrating in latex and grinding on a married man.

The sippy cup moment was ten kinds of awesome, and his shoutout to his wife? I melted like Marble Slab Creamery on a hot day.

      agreed 10000000%

  • Mel

I dunno. I feel like all of this Grammy swooning is kind of ZZZZZZZZZZ. I think it’s b/c I’m a boring coot who doesn’t know how to enjoy life. Regardless, this hero worship and the nonsense about Daft Punk is a little grating. Which is why I’ll keep it to myself from now on and let you guys have your fun! I don’t even know why I bothered commenting this really since it’s just me being Debbie Downer.

    • http://Mommyish.com/ Eve Vawter

we LOVE your Debbie Downerness! and I am so with you, except last night was the first grammys in ages that I didn’t feel hopelessly old and dumb watching it.

    • Mel

Awwwwww…HUGS! I’m glad you had a good time, and you’re so NOT old and dumb
