Dumb Dudes Find Twitter Rape Jokes Hi-Larious, But Police Do Not

Posting a photograph of a passed out girl covered in vomit with the text that you and your brother plan to rape her is awful enough, but Twitter user@RichlonelyJuan is obviously not too concerned about it because as of one hour ago, he is still on Twitter yucking it up.

The original photo, posted at 1:09 A.M. on January 1st, has been removed after social media users alerted local police in Cobb County, Georgia.

Since then, the user ‘Rich Lonely Juan” who uploaded the pic is busy on twitter defending his right to do so:

This guy is blaming everyone, claiming this is a black twitter thing and that white people have nothing to be angry about.

Screen Shot 2014-01-02 at 7.27.57 AM

Which is obviously nonsense, because there are plenty of black twitter users who think this guy is a moron too.

Rape jokes happen. Some people don’t think rape is a serious crime. But if you make a threat like this, it’s bound to piss a lot of people off. And it wasn’t just our friend Juan who was doing this either, because a different twitter user with the handle @IH8UHOES joined in and claimed he with with the same girl too:

According to Buzzfeed:

On Wednesday, Dana Pierce, a public information officer for Cobb County told BuzzFeed that the police department did not have the names of the men who posted the photographs, or any information about the alleged attackers.

“How are we going to find them?” asked Pierce. “We could find their IP addresses, but we’re not going to do that on New Years Day… They [the detectives] will probably really sink their teeth into the case tomorrow.”

Pierce also told BuzzFeed that investigators received an anonymous call from a female who said she was familiar with the case and that there was “no truth” to it.

“Obviously this doesn’t satisfy our investigation,” said Pierce. “But the alleged incident that has gone viral is not a crime. We need a lot more evidence to prove that this happened.”

The detectives are “working on it,” but they have not had any success in validating the claims from the tweet based on the information provided thus far.

Whether a crime actually happened or not, both these Twitter users mention being students on their accounts so I would think that mayhaps they should have their Internets taken away for a while, at least until they realize that making these types of jokes online may not be the smartest course of action.

I don’t understand why everyone is in an uproar when some 13 year-old kid makes a bomb-threat (even a draws a bomb – wasn’t this covered in Mommyish?) but claiming to rape a poor girl (with pictures no less) is met with a “meh”. If these guys had a fake picture of a bomb – he’d probably in prison right now – New Years or no New Years.

And I get that bombs kill people etc.

    • Michelle Pittman

because she totally deserves to get raped for getting so drunk with guys – DUH! she was so asking for it brah!

    • r2

what if that happened to you? you idiot. that is the stupidest thing i’ve heard, no one”asks for it”. people like you are what makes society dangerous and awful. i hope you change your ways.

    • Kat

Pretty sure that was sarcasm there.

    • Michelle Pittman

Thank you…I thought it was dripping from my post but apparently not…

    • Alicia Kiner

People need to learn sarcasm. It’s so much fun.

    • Michelle Pittman

Yes because obviously people who actually think like that come to mommyish all the time…huge amount of sarcasm…I’ll post a disclaimer next time

    • EmmaFromÉire

Are you new to sarcasm? You’re new to sarcasm, aren’t you!

    • Michelle Pittman

um…that comment was dripping in sarcasm…i personally feel people that have no sense of humor are what makes society dangerous and awful…

    • brebay

Rapes kill people too, just takes years sometimes.

    • Psych Student

Or anything that looks like a gun. Don’t forget, we can’t use a Lego “gun” to “shoot” others either. That leads to expulsion.

  • jane

Wait, am I reading this right?

Internet 1: “Hey world! We’re about to commit a totally disgusting crime and we’re broadcasting our intentions!”
Internet 2: “Excuse me, police? Could you please do something about this?”
Police: “Lalalalala, it’s a holiday. We’ll get back to protecting and serving tomorrow. I sure hope that nothing bad happens until then. But if it does, it’s probably not really as bad as it looks. More eggnog?”

    • Andrea

Yeah that’s pretty much how it goes. If it ain’t gonna generate revenue (i.e. traffic tickets) we can’t be bothered.

    • keelhaulrose

I seriously checked to see if that statement was released by Police Chief Wiggum, because I can’t believe it came from a real policeman.

    • Blueathena623

I’m not giving Cobb county cops much credit, since they are notoriously dumb, BUT as someone said in the Buzzfeed article, it may be that they can’t get the ISP info because its New Year’s Day, and there aren’t people available at the ISP companies to work with them.

    • FormerlyKnownAsWendy

It could be too, that they ARE looking into it but don’t want to let the idiots think they’re not yet.

  • Alexandra

Fake or not, isn’t she on the floor covered in vomit? Shouldn’t someone MAYBE check to see if she’s still freaking alive? JEEZ-US

  • Natasha B

Wait, what? The cops were straight up ‘it’s New Years, we’ll check this out tomorrow. I’m too hungover’
    ‘Merica.
This makes me sad :/ I hope the girl is ok, and I hope those shitheads drop the soap in jail one day….

  • Andrea

Good luck getting Cobb Co idiotic pig cops to do anything about this. They are too busy chasing speeders to jack up the county revenue.
    (I live in the area)

    • Blueathena623

Yup, was going to say the same thing.

  • Humphrey Bugoy

yuck…is that puke all over her?

    • Egg Norton

      !ssorG

    • meteor_echo

No, it’s fucking glitter and unicorns, an this guy is obviously offering to get her to the ER.
Stop asking questions you already know the answers for.

    • Egg Norton

      Calm down hun.

    • meteor_echo

      Nope, I won’t, dearie.
The first question when you see a photo like this should be “Is she alive, is she okay?” and not “Is that puke all over her?”.

    • Egg Norton

Try to lighten up a bit.

    • meteor_echo

Are you my personal yoga trainer or what?

    • Egg Norton

      Yes.

    • meteor_echo

      You’re fired.

    • Egg Norton

      Aww.

    • Egg Norton

      I still love you.

    • Humphrey Bugoy

hey now why you all up in my grill?

    • Egg Norton

She drank a case of 5 hour energies.

    • meteor_echo

Because you don’t really give a fuck about the person in the photo?

    • Humphrey Bugoy

      She’s not my type

    • meteor_echo

      “Mick, Mick, Mick! Speak English!”

    • Humphrey Bugoy

hmmm? you were raised by two lesbians?

    • meteor_echo

If you were crowned with a nail to the head, then yes.

    • Egg Norton

      Mystery is now solved.

    • Humphrey Bugoy

      that doesn’t make any sense

    • Psych Student

You ask that like it’s a bad thing. You should be so lucky as to be raised by two lesbians.

    • Egg Norton

Looks like she had Cheerios for breakfast.

    • Humphrey Bugoy

      Looks more like SpaghettiOs

    • Egg Norton

      I stand corrected.

  • Fuzzy ‘n Broken Mirror

I find rape jokes offensive and not nice. I hope they catch these bastards.

    • Egg Norton

      Me too. Just awful!

    • Humphrey Bugoy

Those ickle toes are so cute

    • Egg Norton

reminds me of a certain yellow dog.

    • Humphrey Bugoy

      must be a sexy dog

    • Fuzzy ‘n Broken Mirror

I am shocked at the insensitive nature of you two joking about joking about rapes!

      Rape is serious!

    • Egg Norton

      Grow up! Jerk!!!

    • Fuzzy ‘n Broken Mirror

I am going to flag you and your mean posts

    • Egg Norton

Why are you being so mean!!??

    • Fuzzy ‘n Broken Mirror

      Rape jokes make me angry!

    • Egg Norton

      Stop harassing me!!!!!!!

I’ll sue you!! I happen to know a lawyer!

    • Fuzzy ‘n Broken Mirror

All lawyers are scum! I hope someone rapes them all… like really really hot chicks

    • Egg Norton

      puuuahahah

    • Humphrey Bugoy

Why how dare you ? I would not rape someone covered vomit

  • Kay_Sue

    Well. This was sincerely depressing.

    • Fuzzy ‘n Broken Mirror

At least it was hardwood and not carpet

    • Egg Norton

      ^^^Silver lining Alert^^^

    • Humphrey Bugoy

yeah that carpet would have been stained with puke

    • Kay_Sue

Naw, I got a homemade stain remover that will get shit out of anything.

No, literally shit, but I am sure it would work on puke too.

    • Egg Norton

      puuuuahahaha

    • Humphrey Bugoy

well that solves that problem hehe

    • Egg Norton

It truly is. hopefully those guys will do some time.

    • Humphrey Bugoy

yeah I had to take some prozac

    • Kay_Sue

Don’t take prozac. I’ve heard the weight gain is awful.

    • Egg Norton

      How YOU doin?

  • Fuzzy ‘n Broken Mirror

Who are all these people deleting their comments?

If you have something to say, you should stand by it!

    • Egg Norton

      I know!

    • Guest

I hate those bastards so much!!1! DIE!

  • gothicgaelicgirl

….So…because they’ve joked about it and people are offended…it’s automatically a race thing??
Good christ on a wagon, does EVERYTHING have to be about race?
I’m sorry but I’ freakin SICK of ANYONE in ANY race suddenly crying RACISM because THEY mess up and may have to answer for it.
If that’s the case then I could get hammered and smash up a pub.
But if the cops came down, RACISM BECAUSE I’M IRISH!!!!

    Utter bull testicles…

    • AP

It’s a last-ditch attempt on the part of that person to get what he or she wants, by making everyone uncomfortable. No one wants to be called a racist, no one wants to be accused of racism, and no one wants to be called on the carpet by a supervisor for an accusation of racism. People often will cave in and bend the rules to avoid being called a racist.

I’ve dealt with it at work, and it often comes out of the mouths of people who’ve just been called out for doing something they know is completely inappropriate. For example, I once caught a 40 year old man trying to sneak into the little girls’ locker room and when I told him that he was not allowed in there, he called me a racist. (I held my ground. I’m an adult and I can take being name-called if it saves a few of my girls from the pain of whatever he had planned.)

    • gothicgaelicgirl

love the moron who downvoted this… (probably used the RACISM excuse)
I applaud you for standing your ground, there are some sickos here!
I work in retail, dealing with secondhand goods and I constantly get this when someone tries to sell a faulty item- You’re being racist, you won’t take my phone!
No, I won’t take your phone cos it’s a heap of shite that is literally sparking in my hand…

  • brebay

I want to slap their mothers.

  • ponchopanda

He’s 17, and most likely lives in Maryland. Either Bowie (most), Laurel, or Largo.

    He goes to laurel high.

This is what we were able to get from his twitter. Now if someone could do humanity a favor and light this person’s house on fire, that’d be great

    • Blueathena623

I was reading that and the buzzfeed commenter who was linking to FB, etc., but I’ve missed how he lives in Maryland but Georgia police are involved. Was he visiting? What am I missing?

    • ponchopanda

I’m not too sure on the georgia police either. Regardless someone needs to do something.

  • emmapetersen

Le sigh. Cobb County was slammed but the detectives did their best with what they had to go on.

Why don’t we put the responsibility of this directly where it belongs. On the two individuals who thought this “hoax” was funny. And it was a hoax by the way. I spoke with a detective earlier who verified it was and also verified that contact had been made with the parents of this young man and his friend.

The two aren’t even in Georgia. They’re in a totally different county and the detectives of Cobb County have been in contact with the police and detectives there.

Can we not talk about how the adults in this situation behaved? The vulgarity and the threats, even after it was suggested that the young man was a high school student. He fed off of the responses and if this had been a fire the tweets he received was more than enough full.

Seriously, what did the tweets do to help the young lady in the picture? What did calling him names and threatening him do to help the young lady in the picture? What did jumping on the angry a$$ Twitter mob bandwagon like so many did do to help the young lady in the picture? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

It seems like very few bothered to take a few minutes to read his timeline before that one disgusting and horrific picture and tweet threatening sexual assault on the poor unconscious young women. If they had maybe they would have realized he was NOT in Cobb County, Georgia. But that probably wouldn’t have been as satisfying, would it.

Now that we’ve found out it was a hoax, how to we stop a similar occurrence? How do we encourage the powers that be to make it illegal to waste precious police resources in an effort to gain Twitter cred and followers?

Anyone have any answers? I’d definitely like to hear them.

    • guest

shut the fuck up. what did your comment do to help the girl? dumb ass, when you see something like this your instinct should be to do something. immediately. the people who called cobb county probably just dialed 911 and happened to themselves be in cobb county. and why is reacting to this wasting precious police resources?

    • emmapetersen

      Hi Guest,

Why the anonymity and the profanity? You don’t know what I did or did not do but I can almost guess what you did. Mob mentalities are dangerous and don’t really help the situation or the people in the situation.

      Emma Petersen

Who didn’t post this anonymously and didn’t use profanity because it totally and completely didn’t call for it.

  • Helen

Wishing death is never a good thing but what they did was sick. So it was all a joke or no? I’m confused. Does anyone know if this missing girl is the victim? Was there a victim or was this really just a cruel joke?

    • Psych Student

You are asking the exact right questions and the things we should be most concerned about. Did anyone ask the girl in the picture what happened? Even if they didn’t sexually assault her did they put something in her drink? Because that’s not ok either. Did the cops ask the boys if it was a hoax because they probably aren’t the right people to ask. Let’s talk to the girl in the picture to find out the situation.
