Let’s All Reward Reese Witherspoon’s Drunken Rudeness By Forgetting Who She Is

Reese Witherspoon Drunken RudenessCelebrities can mainly suck it, unless they are truly great humanitarians and donate a gazillion dollars yearly to charities and act like decent people when they are out in public. Reese Witherspoon - yeah, yeah Election was a great movie and I suppose she was pretty good in Walk The Line but come on, does Reese really think she can afford to act like such a bitch when she has starred in so many bad movies over the years? For those of you unfamiliar with what I mean by “act like a bitch” I shall enlighten you. Reese and her husband Jim Toth were arrested early Friday morning in Atlanta , Reese for disorderly conduct and her husband for failing to pass a sobriety test. Basically they were both shitfaced and driving around Atlanta and you know, potentially endangering fellow motorists and pedestrians by getting behind the wheel of a car when drunk.

Good people don’t drink and drive. Only assholes drink and drive. I don’t care who you are or what a good driver you are or how responsible you are. Drunk drivers are scum. I have zero sympathy for these people. And to make matters worse, good ‘ol Reese pulled the diva celeb card on the poor officer, who was just trying to do his damn job, by saying – according to The Daily Mail:

The officer on the scene claims that the actress became clearly agitated and eventually disobeyed his verbal commands.

The officer reported: ‘Mrs. Witherspoon began to hang out the window and say that she did not believe that I was a real police officer.’

The law enforcer explained in the report: ‘I told Mrs. Witherspoon to sit on her butt and be quiet.’

But once Toth was handcuffed, the mother-of-three disembarked from her seat, telling the officer that she was a ‘US citizen’ and that she had the right to ‘stand on American ground’.

The report then described how Reese resisted him as he grabbed her arms to arrest her.

Toth is said to have made a verbal attempt to calm his hysterical wife.

The officer’s report further details: ‘Mrs. Witherspoon asked, “Do you know my name?” I answered, “No, I don’t need to know your name.” I then added, “right now.” Mrs. Witherspoon stated, “You’re about to find out who I am.”’

Unfortunately the police reports doesn’t state that reese went on to say “I was the star of the critically panned dumbass movie Little Nicky also starring Adam Sandler.” According to Entertainment Weekly, reese has apologized for being a raging shebitch:

“Out of respect for the ongoing legal situation, I cannot comment on everything that is being reported right now. But I do want to say, I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said. It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse. I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job. I have nothing but respect for the police and I’m very sorry for my behavior.”

Yes Reese, most of us in America do know who you are and I always viewed you as sort of an okay actress, but with really cute kids. But I’m more than happy to forget who you are considering there are plenty of actresses in Hollywood who has a lot more talent than you do and who are smart enough to realize that when you are drunk, you don’t get behind the wheel. You and your husband can move along now, and the rest of us can find different celebrities to give our movie ticket money to.

Omg! Reese Witherspoon is a mean drunk!

… Okay, while I agree that drunk drivers deserve no sympathy and are USUALLY the highest form of asshole there is, I have to say you seem a little bit harsh here. People make mistakes, and from the sounds of it Reese was not the one driving, her idiot husband was. She just acted inappropriately while under the influence, and in that case, let’s get real here: If we withheld our movie ticket money from every actor who acted inappropriately at some point or another, the entire movie industry would be defunct within just a few months.

It is a miracle nobody got hurt, though, thank goodness. I still believe her husband deserves more of the flack than Reese does, however.

    • goofyjj

she acted like she is above the law because she’s a rich movie star. I don’t think the author was harsh enough

Yes if withheld our movie ticket money from every actor who was inappropriate, they would learn that just because they’re famous doesn’t give them free reign to be a complete douchebag.

They are both to blame here. Drunk driving is the stupidest decision to make, and they certainly have the means to call a cab. “people make mistakes” is not an okay excuse for doing something stupid that kills people.

  • Annie

I love that she turns into a redneck when she’s drunk.

    “OMG YOU GAIZ… I’M A MURIKAN!”

      HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Yeah, something tells me that the hillbilly really comes out in her while drunk.

  • CrazyFor Kate

Look, she apologized, and she wasn’t even driving. I think boycotting her is ridiculously harsh. I think many of our readers and writers at Mommyish have said something regrettable under the influence. Is that a reason to want to destroy someone’s career?

    • Anon

I agree, bad judgment all around, but she wasn’t driving. And I would like to meet the person who never said anything regrettable after drinking. it actually reminds me of that scene in Sweet Home Alabama when she got drunk and made an ass of herself in the bar. It sounds to me like the author already hated her and was given this little bad PR pressie this morning and ran with it.

    • A-nony-mous

Saying something regrettable isn’t equal to drunk driving or allowing someone to drunk drive. They’re both middle-aged adults and Reese has nearly teen-aged children. What a fine influence for them. They could’ve been motherless. Or had their mother and step-father in jail if they’d hid somebody like hundreds of thousands of drunk drivers just like them do every year.

Comparing this stupidity to someone saying something mean is ridiculous. Two wrongs don’t make a right and it’s a lame comparison. She’s stupid. He’s stupid. They’re both selfish and now she’s a diva too.

I have said many regrettable things whilst drunk, but not whilst in a moving vehicle my drunk husband was drunk driving.

Meh. She got drunk and acted stupid. At least she apologized. I’m not okay with her husband driving drunk, but the rest sounds like a typical Saturday night for a police officer. I was a little disappointed to hear that she acted like this…. I always pictured her as the sweetheart she portrayed in Cruel Intentions.

  • Dave

So basically your saying that it’s OK to drink and drive or whatever as long as you think they are good at what they do. Right??

You’ve got some super duper reading skills there, Dave.

Your comprehensive reading skills are outstanding. First of all, Reece wasn’t driving, her asshole husband was.

Eve stated that Reese is an asshole for a completely different reason – the fact that she pulled some major bitch diva moves. The statement “does Reese really think she can afford to act like such a bitch when she has starred in so many bad movies over the years?” was about Reese not being as awesome as she thinks she is. I’m pretty sure that if anybody pulled those sorts of moves, no matter how talented (and lets face it, Reese is pretty talented), Eve would think they were an asshole.

  • Daisy

Kind of disappointing to hear she did that :( She always seemed pretty classy compared to most of the real train wrecks in Hollywood.
