Pregnant Evan Rachel Wood Rages Against ‘Sick’ Paparazzo Who Snapped Pictures Of Her Ultrasound

Pregnant Evan Rachel Wood is expecting her first child with husband Jamie Bell. They’re newlyweds, first baby is on the way — joy all around. So leave it to the sleaze of the paparazzi to make the expectant mother feel like total crap.

Just this afternoon, Evan Rachel Wood tweeted that a “sick fuck paparazzi” snapped a picture of both she and her ultrasound as she was leaving the hospital. Those unfamiliar with this emerging staple in celebrity bump watch need only refer to Drew Barrymore and her sonogram. It’s been done. And “violation” doesn’t even begin to describe such a liberty by the rags.

Naturally, the 25-year-old took to Twitter to vent her frustrations:

At present, it appears that The Daily Mail — which ran the photographs — has removed them. (They have a soul!)

As obnoxious as Twitter temper tantrums can be, I find Evan Rachel Wood’s run down of “people have no hearts,” “would u like my soul too?”, “my child isn’t even born yet,” “that’s the inside of my body and my child,” to be a very refreshing and warranted response to the paps. Between Evan Rachel Wood’s sonogram, Drew Barrymore’s sonogram, and Beyonce including her sonogram in her upcoming documentary, who knows if celebrity ultrasounds will become the the new “it” cornerstone in (pre) celebrity bump watch. I certainly hope not.

So score one for privacy. Go Evan. #TeamWood.

I feel like I’m going to catch flack for my Hollyweird cynicism, but “twitter tantrum” is right, Koa. I mean, I AM on Evan’s side–ultrasound photos are private and not public property and she has the right to be incensed, but like, 8 tweets in 90 minutes all on how incensed you are? 1-2 fine; 8 is starting to sound like a roundabout way of saying, “HEY EVERYONE! MY ULTRASOUND PHOTOS ARE NOW PUBLIC! GO GOOGLE ‘EM AND GET MY NAME BACK INTO THE ZEITGEIST BECAUSE I’M PREGNANT AND READY TO TREND!!”

Or, alternatively, she’s just really hurt and angry about it? I think 8 tweets in 90 minutes is tame given the amount of absolute, devastating violation she must be feeling.

I figured people would be offended if I offered that. I worked for a PR
rep in the industry and that’s the frame of reference I have. If the
pictures are out there already, it makes sense for the celebrity’s image
to be ‘on record’ with her outrage, but repeatedly commenting on events
like this usually doesn’t actually fix things, it just generates more
press (although maybe here it did “succeed” if the Daily Mail took them
down, but I sense that that could have been accomplished outside of
      twittersphere).

Plus, I’ll admit it–Evan’s tweets, when read one after the other in total from the bottom up and end on “and that’s all I have to say on the subject”…are kind of humorous to me. But then again, I’m not one get too emotionally invested in the trials and tribulations of celebrities in general.

In the end, the whole thing will blow over in a Hollywood minute and Evan will be fine and have a beautiful child in several months. So hats off to that.

Not the biggest ERW fan, but having photos of my ultrasound taken would make me go on an emotional rant on Twitter, too. It also puts things in perspective on the Kate Middleton pregnant bikini photos.
