Pregnant Kate Middleton Is Wearing Incredibly Chic Pregnancy Shawls

Kate Middleton babyFirst it was Kate Middleton‘s wedding dress that was flying off the shelves and being refashioned into knock offs. But, let’s be real. The pregnant Duchess’s every grab for leggings and a comfy t-shirt is somehow going to be spun as the New It Maternity Wear. Such as when she resurfaced on the streets of London wearing a shawl. You’ve been forewarned. Pregnancy shawls are in.

People magazine reports that Kate Middleton was “finally spotted — and photographed ” wandering around London Town with a plaid shawl. But it can’t just be that the Duchess is flipping cold in London In January. Oh no. She’s grabbing that shawl to hide her coveted baby bump from all of you. And People magazine:

The royal baby bump is almost ready for its closeup! After several very low-key weeks, a more voluptious Kate Middleton was finally spotted — and photographed — in London this past Wednesday, Jan. 30. Visiting a Boots store in West London, the Duchess of Cambridge sported a noticeably growing belly — which she attempted to conceal with a tartan shawl — and a fuller face. Prince William‘s wife stayed warm during the outing with a scarf, black leggings and boots.

I see that the tabs are still harping on that “fuller face” “pregnant face” nonsense.

Nevertheless, Kate Middleton has reportedly “fully recovered” from her hyperemesis and is out and about. Buying chic pregnancy shawls.

She’s “fully recovered” from hyperemesis?? Then she didn’t really have it.

The most frustrating thing about HG (I’ve read/been told by people who’ve experienced it, I myself have not) is that it’s unpredictable. Sometimes it goes away. Sometimes you puke until you’re pushing. It varies woman to woman, and sometimes even pregnancy to pregnancy (you can have it horribly with your first but not your second, etc.)

I’m glad you said that. I have HG, both right this very second and in my first pregnancy. I live in Canada where we (THANK GOD) have a medication available specifically for HG that isn’t available anywhere else in the world, and if I take it four to eight times a day and drink boost or ensure like it’s water I’m able to stay out of the hospital and get up to maybe 140 lbs by the time I deliver. I ran out of my prescription last week and have since lost five pounds, and I’m just shy of 32 weeks pregnant. It really is just the worst, and I felt awful for Kate when she was hospitalized, but I thought it was weird how fast she recovered as well. I guess since I had such a hard time getting diagnosed in my first pregnancy until I hit my second trimester, I think I assumed that it had to stick around longer than average morning sickness to be real HG. But now that I read your comment, you’re totally right. HG does not need to stick around the whole pregnancy to be legitimate. For all we know she could have been in really serious condition (women used to die from this all the time, it’s no walk in the park. Hell, some people believe Charlotte Bronte died of HG) and was just lucky enough to recover quickly, or perhaps it’s a brief remission. I know I shouldn’t have been so quick to play suffering Olympics and speculate about “real HG”.

Yea, fuck that bitch and her fake hospital visits. She’s probably not even really pregnant either, I bet her “bump” will deflate when she sits down too.

      • Justme

I’m hoping this is extreme satire.

      • Ordinaryperson

yea… since I can’t swear all day around the kids, I look for any excuse to get them out online… I may have taken it a bit far this time, but I have no regrets.

      • Justme

I figured. No worries. Obviously the two people who down voted you didn’t get it.

      • Justme

Of course that’s what the Royal PR people are going to put out there to the public regardless of how she is REALLY feeling.

I threw up multiple times everyday for the first six months of my pregnancy. Didn’t feel real great the rest of the time, but I do believe I was still allowed to get out of the house and go shopping.

If you’ve “fully recovered” from hyperemesis before the end of your first trimester, then you didn’t have hyperemesis. You had normal morning sickness. It doesn’t matter how bad you thought it was. If it didn’t go past the 2nd trimester, you just had a bad bout of morning sickness. I had HG and I had it all 9 months. That’s pretty normal for HG. I wasn’t even cleared to drive a car until my 9th month. “Fully Recovered” and “not feeling great most of the day” are two very separate things. If she’s still “not feeling great” then she’s not fully recovered and that’s a misreport on the Palace’s behalf but if she is truly “fully recovered’ before her 2nd trimester, then it was an overreaction to normal 1st trimester symptoms.

Kate is my fashion spirit animal. I love that I can go into Zara or Next and actually see something she regularly wears — all with an affordable price tag. Amazing.
