Krim Family Healing After Tragedy Where Nanny Murdered Children Shows Us How Strong Parents Are

tumblr_mcx8jgpRN61rzuvdnThe crime was unthinkable for some many parents. The idea that you could entrust your children to be cared for by someone who would take their lives in such a brutal, horrific way. I’m not sure how any parents can move on after losing a child, much less children. I’m pretty positive it is the most difficult thing on earth.  Marina and Kevin Krim have taken to the Internet to talk about the healing that has taken place since their nanny, Yoselyn Ortega, allegedly murdered their two young children in the family’s upper west side home. The couple’s four-year-old daughter, Nessie, was not home when the attack took place and according to the New York Post, Nessie has been lifting the parents out of darkness.

“She saves us every day, ” Kevin Krim wrote on Facebook Dec. 28, Nessie’s birthday. “Marina and I couldn’t be more proud of her — she is very smart, beautiful and tough.

“And she’s grown so much over the past two months,” her dad wrote.

After the murders, Kevin, a CNBC executive, and Marina, a doting stay-at-home mom, returned to their native California to be near their close-knit families, quietly grieving and trying to rebuild their shattered lives.

But last week, the couple announced on Facebook that they are returning to New York City — crossing the country in an RV from LA with Nessie and some close friends.

“We are hopeful that 2013 will be a year of healing, growth and peace,” they wrote.

“Along the way, we are hoping to experience some inspiring moments that will help us with our healing and rebuilding.”

I think it’s such good news that the parents are starting to heal from this awful tragedy and being strong for their surviving daughter.  The parents have also established a children’s art and science education foundation in memory of their children Leo and LuLu.
The grieving parents even took time out from their own pain to offer condolences to the Sandy Hook community after the shootings took place by posting on their Facebook page:

“We are hurting so much as we think about the violent tragedy in Newtown,” the Krims wrote.

“Our hearts especially go out to all the families who have lost their children in an act of unspeakable violence. As parents who are dealing with loss and grief, we understand how much these children will be missed every minute of every day.”

I can’t imagine the pain this family is feeling, but it looks like they are trying to cope in any way they can, and by starting the foundation to help underprivileged kids I think they are doing an amazing job of honoring their children.

Tears… I know every parent has felt this way forever but it’s a scary world to raise children in. Not letting the fear take over your life and by default your child’s life, that’s the challenge.
