Guys, Why Didn’t Anyone Warn Kim Kardashian That Pregnancy Was Hard?

Kim KardashianKim Kardashian has spoken. After Kanye West spilled the beans that the reality star is now his “baby mama,” Kardashian hit the red carpet before a paid appearance at 1OAK Nightclub in Las Vegas. That’s when she made her first statement about the upcoming Kimye baby. And you’ll never guess but, “It’s not as easy as people think.”

I hate to be disparaging for poor Kardashian, who is definitely going to come under plenty of ridicule throughout this media extravaganza, but did she really have to complain about hard work? The woman who is famous for not working or doing anything productive ever? She had to complain that pregnancy is hard work

Her whole statement went like this:

“I wouldn’t say that it’s been easy. When people say pregnancy is fun and they love it I would have to disagree. I think from this stage on it does become easier, but it’s adjusting. Even my sister has made it look easy, but it’s not as easy as people think. It’s a little painful … But I heard it’s all worth it, so I’m looking forward to that.”

It’s just such an odd comment to make about pregnancy. You heard it was going to be worth it? Well yea, sweetheart, it’s worth it.

Honestly, Kim sounds like that super clueless friend who doesn’t understand what’s going on. I feel like patting her on the head and telling her that everything will be fine. She stated that she hasn’t had any morning sickness yet, which is great. I can’t imagine what she would say if she was getting sick a couple times a day.

I’m also a little confused as to how much Kim interacts with the rest of the world. All pregnant women talk about is how difficult pregnancy is. We make entire movies about it. There are countless books written about it. Pregnancy is not easy, Kim Kardashian! And I’m really sorry hun, but it’s not going to get any easier.

Please, you’d be having a whinge if she said it was easy too. This article is all about bashing Kim and nothing about pregnancy. How about we give celebrities a break.

Oh, Kim, honey. If you think this is hard, wait until you’re in labor.

  • Jem

what is hard about the first trimester if you don’t have any morning sickness? I would have forgot i was pregnant except for the barfing..what is painful? Was I just lucky?

    • Andrea

Weren’t you just unbelievably, inexplicably and overwhelmingly tired? I swear I could have slept for 16 to 18 hrs a day during my 1st trimester. My doctor told me that you are producing placenta which is the equivalent of producing blood…the reason you are so tired after donating blood. Except you get over donating blood in a few hrs, but you keep producing placenta for weeks.

I didn’t have morning sickness. My boobs were really REALLY sore and I was extremely exhausted. I also developed “super smell”…like someone had turned my olfactory bulb up to 11…which was horrible. But I wouldn’t have said the first trimester was “hard”. “Annoying” maybe but not “hard”…

  • This is a dumb article

Wow, you’re snarky. Why don’t you spend your day taking care of your kids instead of picking apart people.

So wait…she’s not been sick and she’s just coming out of her first tri and it’s already ‘painful’ and ‘hard work’? Bwahahahahaaaaaa…right. i wish people would stop giving this woman the time of day/media coverage. Just what has she done with her life besides a whole load of nothing, anyway?

I have no lost love for Kim, but (and tmi) when I was pregnant, the first few weeks my uterus was stretching out and I had early round ligament pains, and those were painful. She still sounds clueless, but I’ll give her the painful part.

I was surprised by the growing pains, too – I felt like I had menstrual cramps constantly for the first couple of months! Granted, I never *thought* (and would NEVER say) that people think pregnancy is EASY. That’s what bothers me about Kardashian’s quote.

  • Blueathena623

Oh, and the comments bashing you for being snarky — mommyish doesn’t always have to be serious. Snark away!

  • Tinyfaeri

I used to work at a clinic, and there are a surprising amount of women from pretty much all walks of life that don’t know they have 3 holes “down there.” So maybe she’s just a little… information deprived.

  • Jessie

She is an idiot. She probably thinks breathing is hard.
News flash Kim, millions of women have been pregnant before you, many with kids, jobs, no running water. You’re a privileged princess. I’m sorry you have to stop drinking and partying.

I’m not the biggest fan of the Kardashian family, but I do think this is unwarranted. She is speaking about HER experience so far. This is her first time being pregnant and she says it’s not as easy as she thought it was, that sounds incredibly honest to me.

    • Harriet Meadow

No, she says it’s not as easy as “people” think. Saying it’s not as easy as *she* thought would be much less troubling, to me anyway. But it’s true that even well-informed individuals can be surprised by the experience; I didn’t expect every little ache and pain that I was feeling, to which my mom replied, “why would you? It’s your first pregnancy!”

I hate when women put other women down by using the words “sweetie” and “hun”. I was told many things about pregnancy, but when I got pregnant there were lots of surprises I didn’t expect. Maybe that makes me stupid too, because I was so happy to know I was pregnant I wasn’t thinking at all about the upcoming migraines, fatigue and all day nausea. Sounds like she was being honest. When will women stop bashing one another? And just because she is a celebrity..if your girlfriend said that to you I doubt you’d have the same reaction. When Pink was pregnant she said she imagined feeling like a goddess and not deadly tired and awful and no one bashed her. Can’t we try to be slightly nicer to one another? Not to be Pollyanna but the world is a sad enough place, freakin be nice to your fellow females for once.
