No Mother Deserves To Be Called A ‘Whore’ By Her Kids, Not Even Kris Jenner

KardashiansIt is not very often that you will find me sticking up for Kris Jenner. In fact, I’m pretty positive that it’s never happened before. In general, I find the Momager pretty horrid. That’s how you know that one of the Kardashian Klan has really crossed the line, I’m actually defending the matriarch of America’s most-watched and least-respected family.

Here’s the situation, for those of you who didn’t watch Keeping Up With The Kardashians whenever it last aired. (I didn’t either, I’m completely getting my information from Gossip Cop on this one.) Kris Jenner decided that she needed to meet up with the man she once had an affair with and wrote about in her tell-all book, Todd Waterman. Apparently, she’s been having “fantasies” about him for decades and needed to see if it was all just a picture in her head and not reality. Surprise, surprise, it was just in her head.

Now, in true Kardashian fashion, no affair is private. No issue is too personal to talk about in front of a camera. So Kris drags her husband out of bed to confess to meeting with her former-flame to her current-husband, Bruce Jenner. In a turn of events that only Kris found shocking, her husband wasn’t thrilled to find out that she went behind his back and talked to an ex-lover. His exact reaction was, “What an idiot you are.” Of course, their entire argument took place in front of one of their teenage daughters. I’m not sure which one because I can’t tell them apart.

Up until this point, I have to agree that Kris handled the situation horribly. I can completely understand her husband’s anger. You’ll see no defense from me about all this. But then, apparently, Kris told her daughters about the problem. While I don’t understand discussing your personal relationship problems with your offspring, at least these daughters are older. My mom and I talk about a whole lot, though I think she would keep indiscretions an such private.

That’s why the oldest of the Kardashian girls, Kourtney, called her mother a “whore.” Whoa there, friends.

This is an obvious testament to the less-than-respectful relationship that Kris has with her daughters, the type where she wants to be their friend and party buddy instead of their parent. But at the same time, I just cannot imagine calling my mother a whore. Ever. For anything.

For one thing, “whore” is a completely terrible thing for a woman to level at another and it’s not even vaguely appropriate in this situation. Kris didn’t go and sleep with her former flame, she sat to a conversation with him. She was trying to work out an issue in her head. She didn’t handle it correctly. She should have been honest an up front with her husband about the situation from the very start. But none of those issues make Kris Jenner a “whore.”

And I’m not sure how to adequately explain this, but you’re talking to your mother.  This is the woman who gave birth to you. This is the person who raised you. The level of disrespect there is completely astounding. When I think about the possibility of leveling an insult like that at my own mother, I get tongue-tied. It couldn’t come out. Even if she actually decided to start selling her body for money.

It basically comes down to this, no mother should ever be called a “whore” by her children, by her daughters. Not even Kris Jenner. That lack of respect is truly astonishing.

Oh calm down, the whole thing was probably scripted just to get more attention. Fame-whoring at its best.

Trust me… just because you are someone’s mother doesn’t mean you deserve to be respected. There are a lot of crappy mothers out there.

I’m repeating what NotThumper said – there’s a 99.9% chance that the script called for this. Just so that people can be SHOCKED into caring about the fame/camera whores.
side note – I used to admire Bruce Jenner. Olympian. Role model. He sure got the short end of the stick when he married into this circus.

I hate that I know this but here goes. If my mother went public with her affair and insinuated that her… mistress (what do you call a male mistress?) was my father for publicity, yeah, I’d call her a whore too. But agreed, I’m sure the whole thing was scripted.

I am more shocked by the comments from people okay with this than with the actual incident. I don’t get a rats rear how bad your mom is, calling her a ‘whore’, etc. is disturbing. I’ve lost my mom…I can’t even imagine. We were SO close but out of sheer fear, I hurt her once when it counted and I will never get past it. You just don’t do it, that woman gave birth to you. Just out of common respect!
    Great article, Lindsay.
