This 8-Year-Old Knows Why Women Are So Awesome – We Have ‘Veginas’

It’s Friday. This seems like the perfect time to remind us just how awesome our daughters can be. And man, do I ever hope that my daughter is as awesome as this little lady. In response to a writing assignment about being female, this 8-year-old girl wrote the following note. And thankfully, her dad decided to post it to Reddit.

Thank you dad, both for raising an amazing daughter and for letting us all get excited about it.

We should probably use this list as inspiration. Let me know in the comments just why you think women are so amazing.

    You find this inspiring? I find it depressing. Men get jobs too. They’re also creative, have stuff that makes people preanet (sic), they’re smart and they have power. So the only two things different that make women amazing are that they have vaginas and milk in their boobs. Way to aim high, little girl.
    I know it’s not cool to rag on a little girl’s writing, but when it’s being shared by adults as awesome? I just can’t get behind that.

    I agree Bianca.
    It’s a little too weird for an 8 year old girl to think like this. Did the boys in the class say boys are special because they have a penis? Would a parent be proud of that? Women are smart, creative and can have children. That would be a more healthy way to express the ideas she has. And why is dad so proud?

    I’m suspicious. Look very closely at the handwriting. The “f’s” seem to be too precise for a child.

    Also, why is she obsessed with her body parts? I’m calling BS on this…

      Perhaps she recently had a lesson on such body parts? I don’t find this that difficult to believe as real, and I actually used to teach kids this age.

    I’m calling fake, my daughter is the same age and her teachers are constantly telling me that her handwriting is above par for her age, and it doesn’t look as precise as that. The punctuation is spot on, ‘creative’ is spelled correctly but ‘boobs’ isn’t and it just doesn’t look like a child has written it honestly.

    $10 says that this is an adult who has written it, trying to disguise the writing as a child’s.

    I’m a little surprised at the comments. Are you telling me that at 8 years old your penmanship was atrocious?

    Seriously? Remind me never to show you any of my work from that age.
    What gets me more is the “k” on milk, why a cursive k?
    I don’t know who wrote it or why but to call BS because of some of the reasons given is a little extreme.

      Yes,my penmanship was awful. That was only the beginning of my problems…. I just have serious doubts as to whether this is real. If it is-great. Cool, awesome, I just have some doubts.

    Ugh. Today’s equivalent of the Red Diaper Baby. She’ll on her way to growing up to be a good little slogan-slinging groupthinker.

      Agreed. I don’t think these are an 8 tear old’s original thoughts. It is really no different than the families in the movie Jesus Camp, except this is about body parts-not religion.
