Jessica Simpson has hardly paused in keeping her mommy brand momentum going. The masterful bump profiteer may have seemed somewhat quiet in the weeks following her daughter’s birth, but a new People magazine cover confirms that the mother wasn’t just kicking back on maternity leave. She was hard at work negotiating a cover and debut photo spread of Maxwell Drew Johnson for a whopping $800,000. Who says (celebrity) motherhood doesn’t pay?
The issue will reportedly be on newsstands this Friday with plenty of images of the new baby and Jessica’s first post-pregnancy interview. While “BABY BLISS!” isn’t exactly what comes to my mind when envisioning a new mother at home with her newborn, People‘s piece will include such PR gems as “life has completely changed!” and “We can’t get enough!”
Meanwhile, breastfeeding has become a “full-on job,” according to Jessica:
“It’s the worst if I have to pump and give [Eric Johnson] a bottle to give her,” says Simpson. “I miss holding her and having that closeness.”
All the more money and exposure for that budding maternity line, I suppose.
