Casey Anthony may be finishing her probation in an undisclosed location and making video diaries, but a psychiatrist who evaluated the young mother sure has some startling news to share about two-year-old Caylee Anthony. It turns out the reason Casey never revealed the father of her daughter is not only because she didn’t know, but because she was raped, according to court documents.
Psychiatrist Jeff Danziger said in a court deposition that went unsealed that he interviewed the 25-year-old five times over two years, during which he conducted tests for mental illness. In court records which were released only yesterday, Danziger recounts that Casey was raped after passing out at a party when she was 18 years old. He did not testify at the highly-publicized murder trial for young Caylee.
Associated Press reports:
“Two beers, possibly given another drug. Woke up passed out,” said Danziger, reading from notes he took during an interview with Anthony in November 2010. “Don’t remember anything at a party, age 18. This is how she said she got pregnant.”
Danziger says that Anthony showed no evidenced of mental illness and scored normally on all psychological tests — which shocked him. He is hesitant to reveal all the information that the young mother shared with him during their sessions, particularly regarding the accusations of sexual abuse against her father. He maintains that he does not want to wrongly incriminate those who may not have actually hurt the young woman.
If what Casey shared with this doctor is true, these details might shed some light on Casey’s feeling towards her daughter as well as how she could have behaved so calmly and irrationally following her disappearance. Her reaction may not have been justified, but such an occurance in the life of any woman could understability make for a complicated mother/child relationship.
