11 Instagram Parents Everyone Should be Following

Who of us doesn’t enjoy sharing a snapshot of our little bundles of joy? First smiles, first steps, first days of school…we love it all. Instagram can be just the place to share every one of these moments. I know I still have to try hard not to share every single adorable photo of my toddler. If you’re looking for others who are doing something similar, you can always just search some of the mom and parent hashtags.

But if you want to follow some of the best of the best, I’ve got a list of 11 amazing Instagram parents to follow that I just recently discovered.

I based my picks on everything from how beautiful the photos, to what kind of connection the user makes with her audience. I also chose a more diverse set of parents, because not all Instagram parents are white and upper middle class. We’ve got queer parents, adoptive parents, parents of color…as much representation as I could muster. Check ’em out (and if you feel like, check mine out, too):

1. miasaidno

I absolutely love the images (mainly portraits) this queer mama has created for her audience. Eldest daughter Vada (seen here) is frequently seen in some killer fashions, from a Morrissey tee to a shirt with the words “Girl Gang” on the collar that was posted for International Women’s Day. Seriously. Killing it.

2. lamamacitablog

I absolutely love this pink and pastel themed IG account by Ruby, a Latina mom living in Los Angeles (hence the username L.A. Mamacita). This work-at-home mom frequently shared photos of her two precious little girls, plus colorful dishes (including many yummuy donuts), and the occasional giveaway.

3. aenny04

If you’re seeking to inject some whimsy into your feed, you’ll love Aenny Chung’s Instagram page. The photographer and artist uses her insanely cute daughter Bella in every one of her enchanting shots.

4. kristenhowerton

Kristen Howerton is a mom to four kids (via birth and adoption) living in Southern California, and her Instagram is an awesome, realistic, but still aesthetically pleasing glimpse into her life. She’s a writer and blogger (Rage Against the Minivan) and seriously posts about everything on here. Cuddle sessions, UNO games, kid’s homework, much-deserved drinks, and more.

5. jodiepatterson

Mom of 5 Jodie Patterson is a successful writer, business owner, and social activist. She’s also a parent to a trans child and has even done a TED Talk on gender being obsolete. All of this, she documents on her fantastic Instagram page.

If you ever wondered what it’s like to be a parent and an acrobat, look no further than Wayne Skivington’s Instagram page. The Cirque du Soleil artist posts all about his dad life, including pics of him doing all kinds of handstands with son wrapped around him (in matching outfits, of course).

7. gracielaraquel

Graciela Gauna is a mama to two little ones and owner of a beautifully shot Instagram page. Her photos are bright and full of contrast, a clean household, and four pinch-worthy cheeks belonging to two sweet kiddos. Going through her IG feed is like drinking a nice, warm cup of chai tea on a snowy day.

8. oh_joy

There’s absolutely no way you won’t totally fall in love with Joy Cho’s magical Instagram feed. Bright colors and super-cute kiddos are pure gold and make her IG truly shine.

9. dearingkinga

Sometimes, all you want to do is get lost in beautiful photos. Mama Dearing Kingsa’s got that in spades. The Berlin-based mom posts frequently, gorgeous photos of her family in Europe, among mountains, at cafes, and of course, at home.

10. lovers.caveat

Stephanie Coates is an all around awesome-mom with an Instagram that makes you want to be best friends. The hip mama of 3 frequently posts photos of her little family, as well as glimpses of gardening, fashion, architecture, and more with a slightly hipster-meets-goth alternative edge.

11. balcazardescansa

If your idea of an awesome Instagram parent account features lots and lots of beautiful travel photos, you need to check out this account. Jose Ramon Balcazar is a father in Mexico who only posts amazing photos of the country with his young son in tow.
